Serving as the structural engineer of record in partnership with U.P. Engineers & Architects (UPEA) and AFRY, AKRO Engineering & Design provided full structural design for a new two-story boiler building at Graphic Packaging’s Kalamazoo facility. The project featured a combination steel and masonry wall system with concrete foundations. AKRO delivered complete engineering and drawing oversight for the building structure, equipment platforms, tank foundations, and mezzanines.

City Center Stage & Pergola – Ironwood, MI
AKRO Engineering & Design provided full structural engineering design for U.P. Fabricators, including all steel framing, connections, and foundations for a new outdoor stage and pergola. The project incorporated unique design elements such as moment-resistant spread footings, cantilevered shade structures, and concealed HSS connections for a clean, architectural finish.
