Country Bible Church, Wallace, MI – AKRO designed and engineered the expansion of this church sanctuary to double the seating capacity, add larger ADA compliant stage, and accommodate new technologies. AKRO worked closely with the truss manufacturer to provide a unique roof framing solution that maximized sight lines and acoustical performance. Ground breaking is expected May 2021.

DePere, MI – Client: Shape Products. AKRO conducted an analysis on fiber reinforced plastic window wells to verify its ability and further prove the structural integrity to future customers. AKRO provided a finite element analysis to model the window wells and provide accurate results and reports as well as perform additional hand calculations needed to complete the analysis of the fiberglass window wells.

Ironwood, MI – AKRO provided structural engineering design of all steel, connections and foundations for U.P. Fabricators for a new stage and pergola steel framed structures. Unique elements featured moment resistant spread footings, cantilevered shade structure and hidden HSS connections.

Stephenson, MI – AKRO developed the conceptual design and construction drawings for a clubhouse at the Indian Hills Golf course. We provided a full structural layout for the clubhouse including seating space for 50 people, retail area, lounge, bar/kitchen, two bathrooms, office, and vending area.

Iron Mountain, MI – This unique project which partnered with Blomquist Architects required reinforcement of existing 100 year old steel trusses with rivetted connections. AKRO performed a conservative design based on historical rivet and steel strengths to provide a reinforcement design capable of almost doubling the capacity of the trusses. The final design allowed the client to utilize the roof space as an outdoor event/assembly area and keep the existing parking garage space below. FEA analysis along with traditional design methods such as the Whitmore section allowed for member and connection reinforcement utilizing addition of plate, new braces, and increased connection strengths.

Green Bay, WI – AKRO provided a structural assessment for this 100+ old railroad bridge turned fishing platform. The analysis included a detailed inspection of any structural changes determining any deterioration or failure, as well as a thorough measuring of the structure. AKRO also provided an exact report concerning the structural calculations to determine load paths, required member strengths, and stability in accordance with all relevant codes. Recommendations of repairs including member sizes and materials require replacement or reinforcement were provided after the inspection.
